Artwork Setup Guide
Printed Notepads UK has its own in-house design team, but when supplying your own artwork, we need you to follow a few basic guidelines. Providing clear instructions, accurate copy and the correct specifications at the beginning of the process helps us produce the best possible printed result.
Our design team works with all major desktop publishing programs. Should you need advice about creating or supplying your artwork, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Proofing
We assume that all supplied files have been checked and approved by you before they are uploaded. Please review all spelling, grammar, colours, page order, layout and design details carefully.
Your artwork will be checked by our pre-press team, and a free digital proof will be provided for approval before production begins. Although we will highlight any obvious technical issues, responsibility for approving the final content and layout remains with you.

While Designing…
To ensure your custom printed notepads are produced exactly as intended, please follow these artwork setup guidelines before submitting your design.
Artwork setup tips:
- Set your artwork to CMYK colour mode, rather than RGB, to achieve more accurate printed colours.
- Include a 3mm bleed on every edge where artwork extends to the finished edge of the page.
- Keep important text, logos and design elements at least 5mm inside the trim edge.
- Allow additional space along the glued or wire-bound edge, following the safe area shown on the relevant artwork template.
- Supply images at a minimum resolution of 300dpi at their final printed size.
- Create your artwork at the exact finished size of the notepad you are ordering.
- Ensure the number and order of pages in your artwork match the product specification selected.
- Supply covers and internal pages as clearly labelled files where applicable.
- For double-sided printing or multiple page designs, provide the pages in the correct printing order within a multipage PDF.
Printed Notepad Artwork
Your artwork should be created at the finished size shown for your chosen notepad. For the best print quality, we recommend supplying a print-ready PDF containing high-resolution images at 300dpi.
Please use the appropriate template for your selected size and binding style. This will help ensure that all important content remains clear of the trim, glued edge, perforation or wire binding.

General Guidance
- Review your artwork carefully before uploading the final PDF, ensuring it matches the selected notepad size, page count, printing options and binding style.
- Check all text for spelling and grammatical errors, and confirm that you are submitting the correct and most recent version.
- Make sure pages appear in the correct order, particularly when supplying multiple page designs or double-sided artwork.
- Only include images, logos, fonts and graphics that you have permission to reproduce.
- Artwork containing low-resolution, incomplete or unsuitable files may be rejected or require additional design work before printing.
